Frequently asked questions
How often does the world clock update?
Every second. It reads your device's clock and renders each city's local time using its official time zone.
Does it show the correct time during daylight saving?
Yes. Each city uses its IANA time zone, so daylight saving is applied automatically and correctly.
Why do some cities show a different day?
Because of large offsets, when it is evening in New York it can already be the next morning in Tokyo or Sydney. The clock shows the weekday to make this clear.
Can I rely on it for scheduling?
For current time, yes. For future scheduling, use the converter or meeting planner, which let you pick a date and time.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only to load the page. After that it runs from your device clock, so it keeps ticking even offline.
